I'm glad I read it. A well written story that holds you in suspense as you keep wondering what is going to happen next.
This story is powerful and effective while venturing the reader into a realm of horror. RD Larson is a gifted writer who is able to weave a story through the spectrum of emotional experiences. Long after her stories conclude, their memories linger on in a timeless manner, interacting with the imagination. I would highly recommend this author's work.
This is a fast-paced story whose protagonist is never attractive yet fascinating, like a big black spider. Earning no sympathy from this reader, she hurtles through life, desires, and exploits looking only forward. Single-minded and ruthless, she often fancies herself to be a victim, and yet strives onward, her materialistic trajectory interrupted in places by those who guess her emptiness without really knowing it. How it ends can be predicted by those who have met similarly driven people.

RD Larson takes the reader through this woman's life at break-neck speed, which gathers towards the end and shatters against rock. The first-person tight narrative is what makes this story; it engages the reader and does not let up until the end. Few readers will not utter a sigh afterwards.
RD is such a gifted writer. There is never a dull moment in any of her stories. This is one of my favorites !!!
